Who was Nsoah
Nsoah was Barbara Obermoser’s soulmate.
He was a working dog who took his tasks very seriously. He was one of the most successful RRs in mantrailing. He also took part in many demonstrations, for example with the dog unit in Budapest and with the police in Hungary.
He was a true Ridgeback.
He was very self-confident and had great stamina. He was also fast, which matters when tracking and hunting large and small game. He could think and act on his own. His hunting instinct was clearly there, but well under control.
Nsoah was brave and very persistent. He judged danger well and always responded appropriately. He was somewhat reserved with strangers, but loyal and friendly with people he knew. With other dogs he was neutral, whatever their sex.
He was a stable, calm and well-mannered dog and a wonderful companion in any situation.
You will have noticed that this text is written in the past tense: Nsoah is no longer with us. Sadly, at just over 11 years of age, he died of the long-term effects of rat poisoning he had suffered at a young age.
Why Nsoah
Can you fall in love with a dog who is no longer here? Yes, I believe you can. At least, that is how it feels to me.
For months I searched for the right partner for my Zoë. Many beautiful males were offered as stud dogs. Truly gorgeous dogs. But each time something was missing. Nowhere did I get that strong feeling of: yes, he’s the one.
Some people may say I was too critical. And perhaps that’s true. But my wish to have one litter with my youngest felt like a big responsibility to me. I wanted to do it right. For Zoë. For the puppies. For the breed.
With every possible male I asked myself the same questions. Are the bloodlines special enough? Hasn’t this male already been used a lot? Are there hereditary diseases in the line? Time and again we looked into everything. And yet each time something held me back. Sometimes a clear reason, sometimes just a feeling.
Until through word of mouth, my attention was drawn to CH Harmakhis Wisdom Nsoah of Madzinza. From the very first moment I read about him, I felt there was something special about him. The more I learned about him and the more pictures I saw, the stronger that feeling became: this is him. This is right.
How often do you come across a male with such a beautiful, healthy and special bloodline? To me it felt special. As if everything fell into place.
That is why Nsoah.
